Seeking Part-time Pianist/Keyboard

Evangel Church of God in Lake City is seeking a part-time pianist/keyboardist to work with other worship staff and volunteers to organize and provide music for the worship program for weekly Sunday services and other events. This is a task-based position expected to require, on average, approximately five hours per week.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Sunday service pianist for 10:45 am (75 minutes in length). Includes a Sunday morning sound check prior to service. May include Sunday evening for special events.
• Rehearsal for approximately one hour Wednesday evenings after service, and one hour on Sunday mornings prior to the start of service.
• Work with audio/visual and other ministry teams that affect the worship service.
• May assist in occasional church events throughout the year, based on availability.
• Position is available starting immediately.

REQUIREMENTS
• A genuine love for God and relationship with Jesus Christ.
• A passion for worship and the role that music plays as an expression of corporate and individual worship.
• Support the vision, mission, ministry, and core values of the Pastor and congregation.
• Experience in a church music setting is preferred.
• Spread vitality and engage the congregation through the musical worship experience.
• A commitment to join the membership of Evangel Church is preferred . The pianist/keyboardist is a core member of the Music Ministry team, and it is important that this church be your church, not just a job.
• Have a strong musical background with education and/or experience in playing the piano/keyboard. Preferred skills are to be able to sight read sheet Music and/or play by ear. The ability to play along with soundtracks if necessary.
• Must be able to play contemporary worship music as well as traditional hymns.
• Must be dependable, self-motivated, and creative.
• Display Professional and Christian demeanor at all times.
• Compensation: negotiable.
